When to Visit Morrison, CO?

The best time to visit Morrison, Colorado depends on your interests and what you want to do while you’re there. Here’s a general overview of the weather and events in Morrison throughout the year:

Summer (June – August): Summer is the peak tourist season in Morrison, with warm temperatures and plenty of outdoor activities. Temperatures typically range from the mid-70s to low-90s, making it a great time for hiking, rock climbing, and other outdoor adventures. However, summer is also the busiest time of year, so expect crowds and higher prices.

Fall (September – November): Fall is a beautiful time to visit Morrison, with cooler temperatures and the changing colors of the leaves. Temperatures usually range from the mid-50s to mid-70s. Fall is a great time for hiking and other outdoor activities, as well as attending fall festivals and events.

However, the snow and ice can make for beautiful scenery, and there are plenty of opportunities for winter sports like skiing and snowshoeing. Red Rocks Amphitheater also hosts some holiday-themed events during this time.

Spring (March – May): Spring is another beautiful time to visit Morrison, with milder temperatures and the blooming of wildflowers. Temperatures usually range from the mid-40s to mid-60s. What to Pack for Morrison CO?

Morrison has a lot of outdoor activities and you need to be prepared for Colorado weather. Check out this cabin packing list to help you with what you might need for a rustic-style cabin getaway.

In Colorado, the sun is super strong so it is important to pack sunscreen, even in the winter. In the winter, it snows frequently, but it’s common to be in a t-shirt a few hours later once the sun comes out, so pack layers

I would say my best recommendation is good quality hiking shoes, especially in Morrison. The Red Rock sand is very slippery, and regular sneakers don’t grip as well, so you are more likely to hurt yourself if you aren’t wearing the right footwear.

Here are the hiking shoes I wear when hiking in Morrison:

 Best Hiking Boots: Hoka

Best Hiking Sneakers: Hoka

Since Colorado is a very outdoorsy state, I would suggest packing a lot of layers of active and waterproof clothing year-round. If you are visiting during winter, make sure to pack some warm winter clothing as well as snow boots.
